No. The HR20/R15 do not have the "extended" info page, like the DTivos have.

One of my favorite things about TIVO is the original air date of a show when you press the Info button. Can I get this info on the HR20?
Actually, the HR20 does have this feature. While watching a recording, press the info button, and press the select button for more info. The date and time the recording was made is shown at the bottom.

That is the date and time of the actually recording.
Not the first time that it ever aired...

Yep..it would be nice. Ultimate TV also had an extended information feature where you could get a larger list of the actors, the director, and other such information on most programs. Not sure if the Tivos had this or not.

The missing program information is not a bug. It was designed that way on purpose. Your TiVo box got D*'s guide from the Satellite feed but was also calling home and getting the rest of the info. This is one of the great features in my six-year-old TiVo that my HR20 can't touch.

If you have not taken the Wish List Survey in the past few days, much has changed. Please take it again.

This request is ranked number 24 currrently. I think it would be higher if more new HR20 users had seen what TiVo is able to to.

#24 Have INFO show more detail about a show (Cast, Writers, etc.) - possibly on a second screen

Here are some other wishlist items about the Guide and the Guide Info. At least TiVo for the past decade was able to make the GUIDE button go to the GUIDE. D* is one of the few manufacturers who can't figured out how to filter out the channels you don't get. <sigh>

Each of these Wish List items are bugs. The manual says that these features will work and they don't.

Rank
#2 Provide accurate repeat/first run & HD info so the right shows can be recorded p. 47

#3 GUIDE button "displays the Guide" first and Channel Categories second per p. iv. & 4

#4 "Display only the channels that are in your current subscription package" p. 33

20 Apply Current/Favorite Channels as a filter to Search for "just what you want to watch" p. 31

Add in the #1 request for TiVo's Dual Live Buffers and you see that the top four HR20 requests are for basic TiVo features.

Love it as I do, I still hope some day my HR20 will be as good as my old Sony SAT-T60.

Don't think that calling home has anything to do with it. I've had an HR10 running for months at a time w/o a phone connection, and all extended show info is available.

Though I don't use that info all that often, I do miss it occasionally when using the HR20.

You both are correct, but are missing a bit of the detail. The Tivos got some information both ways. The bulk of the extended information was received by tuning to channel 100 late at night and processing the extended Tivo data stream buried within the infomercial found there.

As I understand things, the Tivo could also get some or all of that information by dialup if it couldn't tune to the channel for some reason (which is how SA Tivos got their data if a local channel doesn't broadcast the data, I think.)

Now, the HR20 has a third tuner. Maybe D* has it for a future release of extended guide info...? ;) Enquiring minds want to know.

Happy New Year,
Tom
