One of my favorite things about TIVO is the original air date of a show when you press the Info button. Can I get this info on the HR20?
Actually, the HR20 does have this feature. While watching a recording, press the info button, and press the select button for more info. The date and time the recording was made is shown at the bottom.marty45714 said:One of my favorite things about TIVO is the original air date of a show when you press the Info button. Yep..it would be nice. Ultimate TV also had an extended information feature where you could get a larger list of the actors, the director, and other such information on most programs. Not sure if the Tivos had this or not.Earl Bonovich said:That is the date and time of the actually recording.
Not the first time that it ever aired...
Yep, the Tivos do too.mjs31 said:Yep..it would be nice. Ultimate TV also had an extended information feature where you could get a larger list of the actors, the director, and other such information on most programs. Not sure if the Tivos had this or not.
Don't think that calling home has anything to do with it. I've had an HR10 running for months at a time w/o a phone connection, and all extended show info is available.Milominderbinder2 said:Your TiVo box got D*'s guide from the Satellite feed but was also calling home and getting the rest of the info.
You both are correct, but are missing a bit of the detail. The Tivos got some information both ways. The bulk of the extended information was received by tuning to channel 100 late at night and processing the extended Tivo data stream buried within the infomercial found there.bwaldron said:Don't think that calling home has anything to do with it. Though I don't use that info all that often, I do miss it occasionally when using the HR20.
Thanks for that info...interesting and makes sense.tibber said:You both are correct, but are missing a bit of the detail. The Tivos got some information both ways. As I understand things, the Tivo could also get some or all of that information by dialup if it couldn't tune to the channel for some reason (which is how SA Tivos got their data if a local channel doesn't broadcast the data, I think.)
Now, the HR20 has a third tuner. Maybe D* has it for a future release of extended guide info...?Enquiring minds want to know.
Happy New Year,
