Just to preface, I’ve had Directv Sat. for around 25 years. Recently after a heavy snowstorm I had to scrape snow off my dish via a long pole and brush. Since that time approximately 3 weeks the guide has failed to update and most if not all channels have show “to be announced”. I’ve reset the genie and connected boxes several times to no avail. It’s an HR54. Aside from calling tech service, do you smart guys have any ideas? Thx.

Things it could cause your issue
1. Scraping your dish may have move it out of position.
2.Post your signal levels for all sats --Screen pictures are fine.
3. Your Lnb Lens may be cracked, and water is the issue
4. Any Outside Rg6 connectors may be weather damaged

I’ve been with DirecTV for about the same. In the future when this happens, I’d suggest getting a Stream Machine 30” (long range) water gun. I draw from a bucket of hot water at grade and clean the slimline dish off quickly of snow and/or ice- only like once a year when it happens. My dish is on the 2nd story roof. It’ll help alleviate any movement to a dish when cleaning. With hot water, one can blast the back or front of the dish antenna, to achieve the same results since the metal radiates the heat of the water to melt snow and ice. 👍

Every time I have to scrape my dish I'm paranoid I'll knock it out of alignment.
