I don't stay up, tivo... er dvr it and watch it the next morning.

I know many like Letterman, but I intentionally left him off the poll as I'm just curious who will follow Leno to a new channel and possibly a new time next May.

No room on the DVR ?

I prefer Letterman myself. Never cared much for Leno or Conan at all.

We DVR Letterman and Leno and watch guest interviews and musician/singers we want to see, as I'm sure we will Conan. Sometimes we watch Letterman's monologue and we watch "Headlines" and sometimes "Jaywalking" on Leno. And sometimes we drag out our VHS collection of Carson to see greatness.:D

Edit: we need a "sometimes" option in the poll.

Um...how about an option for "Follow Conan from Late Night to the Tonight Show". Leno never really replaced Carson and the transition to CBS ruined Letterman, IMO. Conan should have been the one to replace Carson from the get go.

This is probably what I'll be doing, too, since "Late Night" is the only late-night show I regularly watch.

Although Conan taking over for Letterman in 1993 was enough of a "WTF?" situation that I can't even imagine them considering having Conan taking over for Carson a year earlier, when they had both Leno and Letterman waiting in the wings as potential "Tonight Show" hosts. (Conan's primary qualification at the time was that he was a former writer for "SNL" who'd had a few lines in a couple of sketches -- about the time Carson was retiring, he'd just left "SNL" for "The Simpsons.")
