Does anyone know of a D* Top Gear episode air date list? If you compare the "First aired date" in the D* program guide, there is no relation to BBCs episode lists air dates (or any others I found on the WEB) ...

Remember, the version of Top Gear we get on BBCA is not the same version as is shown in the UK. I think "our episodes" are cut up and spliced together from pieces of "their episodes". That is, the BBCA episodes are different than the BBC episodes, so the "original air dates" can't really match up very well.

BBCA's site is probably the best source for this kind of info:

Compare the episode descriptions from TV.com for Top Gear (UK) to the descriptions from the BBCA site and you'll see what I mean about being very different episodes.

P.S. A Top Gear US hosted by Adam Corolla? Really?! That sounds like a horrible idea.

The seasons are out of sync. What we are getting as a 'new season' currently on BBCA is actually like 2 or 3+ years old, if not older. Basically they are back filling seasons we never had while waiting for new ones to become available. You'll notice that they are reviewing a lot of 'new' cars that are more than a few years old. IE: last night was an audi tt, a 350z, and a crossfire. Same a few weeks ago with the 'new and improved' boxter and caddi. Just look at how much younger they even look.

Yes, it is a couple seasons old as well. I actually just get the latest BBC episodes from www.finalgear.com.

I love top gear, probably one of my favorite shows out there, and love all the stuff that gets stripped out over here. It is also one of the VERY few shows that the BBC does not release on DVD, so we are stuck with downloading it.

The legal side is a bit interesting as well, the BBC tends to shut down places using their content wrongly (like content on youtube, etc.) very quickly, but finalgear has not been really threatened too much to my knowledge. I think they realize just how many loyal fans from other countries use finalgear and how it really is the only source outside of the UK.

I see. That makes some sense. The last "new" season (this past spring) was relatively "new", though, as they were doing what looked to be the E92 M3, but you're right that the current "new" ones (this summer) are clearly badly out-of-date (and really, aren't even "in date" with one another).

This season has been very confusing for me! This mix and edit stuff is just not working and it certainly has made me lose some of my interest in Top Gear.
You can legitimately download every episode, uncut, on finalgear.com. You'll find your interest soaring.

I notice that I have been deleting or FFing quite a bit this time. I just don't care about too many cars as old as what they are doing right now.

Since the American version was mentioned, does anyone know when it will be starting here?

The current season is on BBCA's site (duh!), guess I'll have to compile my own BBCA episode list for the previous episodes...

Hopefully if they do an Americanized Top Gear, it doesn't loose it's appeal. Seems to happen to often... :nono2:

On another note...what format is the show being broadcast in. It's SD, but it's some kind of widescreen format.
I believe the early ones (close to 4:3) were converted from PAL. Maybe the new ones are a PAL widescreen format?
