So while your playing back you push record on your recording device? Tivo had a record to VCR option does the HR20 have something like that?litzdog911 said:Yes. You can connect the DVR's audio/video outputs to the matching inputs on your VCR or DVD Recorder and copy programs from the DVR. You can do the same to your PC if it has a video capture card and software.
Yes you just push the record on the recording device.mocciat said:So while your playing back you push record on your recording device? Tivo had a record to VCR option does the HR20 have something like that?
No, you can only get something off the HD by playing it and recording off either the S-Video or Composite connections. You can simultaneously watch and record something live, (to your vcr/dvd recorder) of course.mocciat said:So while your playing back you push record on your recording device? I'm guessing that feature involved the Tivo box controlling the VCR? The HR20 doesn't have the ability to control other devices such as a VCR or DVD recorder, and I imagine it never will. As litzdog said, you can do this manually. All outputs on the back of the HR20 are live at the same time, so you have a variety to choose from to hook up to your external recording device.mocciat said:So while your playing back you push record on your recording device? It will work... the HR20 will push out the 480i signal.tsbrady1 said:Forgive my ignorance since I am a salesman not a Tech guy but..... what happens if you record an HD program, like Discovery HD Theater and then try to transfer that to a non HD DVD recorder, will it work and be watchable when replaying on a standard DVD player?
