Hi all. I own a house but am going to be moving. Someone else is going to be renting my home for the next year until i return next fall. I have two hr 21's and a hd receiver. My new tenant wants an hr 34. Should I just cancel my service and let my new tenant get set up as a new customer? I pay 97$ a month for the old choice extra package. Looks like a new custome can save a lot of cash with a two year agreement and get all new equipment. Is this the way to go or is there a reason why someone would transfer service instead? Will D give me or my new tenant any hassles? Thanks for any advice.

don;t think you can transfer directv service, but logically the safest method is to discontinue your service and let your tenant open it in their name - that way if there is any bill payment issues it does not hit your credit score

Yeah, have you tenant call Direct or better yet a local directv retailer and he should be able to order the HR34 with no problem. A retailer installer like myself would be delighted to use the existing cabling to get the install done without placing any more coax on the house.
