I'm trying to use TVersity with my HR21-700. I had it working at one point, but all of the MP3 files I tried to play had an "x" next to them and listed 0:00 as the length. Now I can't seem to access computer running TVersity, at all. The computer shows up in the list when I go to "Music, Photos & More" on the HR21 but that's about it. It gives me an error "Unable to access media" when trying to access it. I switched to TVersity because WMP11 had trouble letting me share my entire music library.

I'm stumped.

What version of TVersity are you using? Did you install the TVersity codec pack? Mediashare is still beta so maybe a simple reboot (computer and dvr) will fix things.

Latest version, 1.0 RC2 - codec pack installed. Have rebooted computer and receiver...

I know that others have had trouble when running the windows media player server. Try disabling the Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service. How is your dvr networked?

I actually don't even have the Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service because this is a different computer that has never had WMP11 installed. The DVR is hardwired into the router (CAT5). I had it working temporarily, I was able to access a JPEG picture. Now it's not working again. Seems very flakey or buggy...

Well, I've reached the limit of my knowledge. Maybe some other more knowledgeable people will chime in.

What verision of windows are you running? Also are you using Windows firewall or another firewall program? If so make sure that tversity media server is in the list of exceptions.

sounds like your tversity is not seeing the box you have as an hr20. under settings set the device to hr20 and then tversity will know to convert mp3 for hr20. most devices can play mp3 themselvess,maybe hr20 one day .
