Troubles With downloads at Microsoft

I had a user call me yesterday to tell me she could not get on the internet. I walked over and her home page was set to http://home.microsoft.com which apparently worked before yesterday. Maybe MS is making some changes to their websites.

I haven't had the need to try, but my daughter was having trouble getting an update yesterday. She said it took a few tries to get a download, I don't know what she was after though.

I remember reading somewhere that the Zune Marketplace site would be down over the week-end. Not sure if it was this weekend or last, tho. /steve

Microsoft is bringing a brand new server center on line, one of the largest such installations in the world and this may have something to do with the problem.

Zune and XBox Live services were schedules for an outage beginning on I believe Sunday night and lasting thru Tuesday, Zune returned as scheduled but there were some additional unresolved issues for XBox Live that caused an additional outage for them.

As of this weekend I am seeing no problems with any of the usual Microsoft sites, product updates are functional, Live Services are up, Zune and XBOX are up and Tech Net is up.

Wish I could say the same for me! This appears to be a disastrous weekend around here.
On top of having trouble with getting updates from Microsoft, Google Talk's 'Call' features stopped working as well. It does not matter what I do, It will not work. What is interesting is I can load the Great Britain version and all is well.

Any thoughts??

Was able to fix the problem this morning. Turns out the issue was with the Modem supplied by the DSL provider (ATT). A full factory reset of the modem corrected all of the problems I was having.
