Does anyone know how to (assuming it's even possible) turn off the Statistics/Scores pop up on NFL ST (I mean the pop up that occurs whenever you change channels within the NFL ST package to tell you what color buttons to push to bring up stats or scores)? I personally don't use that feature at all and so just find it annoying that it pops up everytime I tune to a different game (and sometimes without any prompting).

By the way, I'm using the HR 20 to watch games, if that makes any difference.

Go to channel 795. When the "player stat" message comes up on the bottom of the screen, press RED. Then press BLUE for preferences. Then turn off alerts and save your settings.

Even after you do that, you get the minimized pop up bar. Would be nice to be able to get rid of that also.

I would LOVE to get rid of that stupid stat bar. Everytime it comes up my tv format switches from Pillar Box to stretched. After the stat bar goes away, it goes back to Pillar Box. It is so annoying!

I'm not sure about that one. But if there's any consistency to the coding on these units I know that pressing the EXIT button will actually exit an application. For example, pressing EXIT on one of the MIX channels exits the application that allows you to jump between the individual channels. Maybe pressing exit while in the ST channels will exit the stat tracker application. It may restart when switching channels but I guess it could work.

Hitting the exit button does work until you change the channel. I just wish there was a way to toggle on or off the interactive features of these units.

I hadn't thought of hitting exit to close the pop ups as they come up. I'll have to try that next Sunday. Still, I wish there was some way of simply keeping them from coming up in the first place. Personally, I'm not into fantasy football so typically could care less about the stats. But when I am interested in this feature I think I can remember by now which color button brings them up. After all, my tv keeps repeating the instructions every time I change channels every Sunday!

I agree. Seems like DTV has the belief that all customers want to use all of the new features they are adding to their units. You get Showcases if you want them or not and you get ST player stats/popups if you want them or not. Maybe in the future they'll take some of these comments to heart and allow us to customize these features (oh and also save any customizations we do make through a RESET).
