It was a box office brick when it debuted in 1978, but cable television's AMC channel hopes to score off the rebound when it airs a Tuesday special on Bruce Lee's final film "Game of Death" featuring basketball legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

Abdul-Jabbar is among a handful of people who appear in the 90-minute special, "Bruce Lee: A Warrior's Journey," talking about the kung-fu legend who died at age 32 before "Game of Death" was finished.

AMC is also trumpeting a half-hour of never-before-seen footage, which the makers believe show the work -- critically panned at the time -- as Lee intended.

well, i think what AMC is doing is just showing the complete test footage Lee had shot before his money grubbing boss raymond chow decided to build a stupid and decidedly gruesome film around it-the film golden harvest is infamous for has scenes where a cut out pic of lee is superimposed badly on the face of the stand in(akin to having the actor wear a cardboard halloween picture mask on his face) and even includes scenes from lee's real funeral interposed with someone coming up and actually beating on lee's corpse(which, in the film, turns out to be a plaster of paris dummy)-i can't even imagine how his wife and family must feel everytime they happen upon that!!! this is the film actor gig young completed before committing suicide, and whilst he was having serious depression problems before this, one can't help but think how contemplating the descent of a once promising career had slid to this point may have figured into the equation...
