My HR 20 is currently recording WInged Migration in HD on Discovery channel. If I try to go to another channel, I get a Live TV Conflict screen that says boith tuners are in use and I must choose which one to stop recording on in order to watch live TV - but it only lists one channel, Discovery.

The Playlist screen only shows this one program being recorded and the To DO List doesn't show anything else to be recorded until Sunday.

Known problem? Am I missing something? Did one of my tuners fail?

Thanks,
Pete

Run the test on your system to make sure both recievers are actually working.

Do you have connections on both Sat inputs?
Do you have a connectin on the OTA input?

It sounds like only one tuner has a connection or one is not working.

The Sat test will inform you of what is going on.

I had the same thing and when I checked my tuners I noticed that the sat 2 was not being seen. This happened when my machine received the latest software update. I simply rebooted (turned off power) and both sats are now seen.

Reboot didn't fix it. I guess I'll swap the cables going to the tuners - if tuner 1 stops working and tuner 2 starts working again, then it must be a cable problem. If not, then tuner 2 in the HR20 must be bust.

Not sure what's going on here. I swapped the cables at the wall jack and now all is OK again, good signals on bothe tuners. I guess I'l take it as good news and hope it doesn;t happen again.

The same thing happened to me this weekend, yet it is still not fixed. I have had two tuners working fine over the last few weeks, then bang, there was a conflit showing up last night.

I also checked the satellite tuners and the second one showed up with 0 strength. Switching cables didn't do anything. I did not try switching at the wall, but I will give that a go tonight.

Funny thing was that I was able to live record one show and then change channels to another show, but I was just unable to schedule recording of two shows.

I was gone for the weekend and when I came back I have the same problem. When you look at the transponder screen, both tuners are good. System test. Both are good. But when you go to signal strenth screen, nothing on tuner 2. I have swapped connections on the back of the box, still same problem, so both my feeds from the dish are good. I have also lost just one of the local OTA channels. 4-1 and 4-2. Again segnal strength is excellent on these channels but the screen is just black with no error code or searching for signal. Is this just a software bug?

TDLA & mrpoptop,

Maybe you had a reboot while signal was out, like from snow on the dish for a few hours.

Reason ... If the receiver boots with no signal, then it only activates tuner #1.

Sooooo, both of you, please try a RBR.

Thanks, I tried the RBR and it didn't work... still just one tuner.........

but then somehow this morning, everything was back to normal. There is no rhyme or reason to the "fix", but dual tuners are both up and running.
