Whole home here internet connected here & swm...... 2 Hr24's and 1 Hr21 and things seem to work pretty flawlessly but I wanted to ask if this could be something possibly going wrong on one of the DVR's?

In the bedroom Hr24, I go to watch a recording on DVR and it's blank, nothing played. I tried several of them and same thing, no matter if it was a recording on that DVR or streaming from another. I soft rebooted receiver and it worked fine, so that's all it needed and everything was fine........

Now watching live TV on ABC in the living room on the other HR24, which had been on for two hours or more, and suddenly, the directv Screensaver comes on on LIVE TV?

With regard to the first issue, every now and then strange things can happen when trying to playback recordings. As you found out, sometimes it just takes a reset of the receiver to fix it.

With regard to the screen saver issue, that is a bug that crops up every now and then. I've been lucky enough to have never experienced it on my main receivers.
