UI Suggestion

When recording a show, hitting the record button again, either accidentally or intentionally *should* bring up a confirmation prompt to "stop recording" rather than automatically toggling to stop recording.

Last night, I was watching "Flip This House" on A&E and about 20 minutes in, I accidentally hit the record button, so it stopped recording. I immediately realized it, so I tried to go watch the live buffer - and go back to the beginning. It seemed to hang the stream everytime I tried to rewind, 6 second rewind, or even pause the live stream. It felt like a few blocks in the MPEG stream had gotten lost. The only way to get a picture moving again was to change channels and then come back, which of course lost the live buffer.

This is with 10B BTW. Further, I had a bum recording of a show from yesterday morning after the Santa update. It was a 30 minute show from an SD channel that showed "29 minutes" in the list, but would not play.

I wish DTV would focus on the stability of the basic DVR functions like these bad recordings which have been reported consistantly. I actually like the HR20 and it has potential, but it needs to record and playback flawlessly - everytime. I'd rather see this before we see things like the Viiv interface... nice, but is it the primary function of the DVR?

They are very serious in fixing those issues.
It is a large team, that has a lot of sub teams....

They have people dedicated to indentify what is gonig on with these failed recordings...

After I RBR'ed the HR20 due to the autorecord freeze posted in another thread, 4 episodes of "Sell This House" that were recorded yesterday have disappeared... I presume they were unwatchable... but I stand by my comment about making a DVR that can accurately record video!

I've been with DTV for >10yrs; I had the first DSR6000's when they came out in 2000. I've had DTV DVR's for 6+ years now. On the 5 Tivo boxes in 6 years, I can not remember a single time when I recorded something on a Tivo box that didn't record or was unwatchable.
