The "South Carolina Upstate @ Kentucky" basketball game is on my guide on channels 630 (FSS - Fox Sports South), 638 (FSCN - Fox Sports Net Ohio (Cincy)) and 660 (RSNa - Regional Sports Network Alternate).

My other FSN Ohio feed on channel 637 has its programming actually showing on 637 and 638!

I was able to watch most of the first half of the game on 660 and then I got the dreaded "Program no available in your area. Check Program Guide for alternative programming" message.

After 45 minutes I have no answer from DirecTV as to why the game stop being shown. I just kept being told that they don't control it. There was mention of the blackout rules, but the FSN Ohio feed for the local Time Warner Cable carrier is working just fine. Is there a difference between TWC's feed for FSN and DirecTV's?

I'm confused as to why I would purchase the sports package to have it blacked out when I'm not even in the local market. Isn't that the point of black-outs?

Needless to say I'm pretty upset that I have now missed last week's game and most of this one. Any feedback is greatly appreciated?

I'll be here waiting to hear back from D* as to what the "specialist" had to say about the issue.

Thanks for reading my rant :D

I ran into a problem when I tried to Tivo their exhibition game against Lindsey-Wilson. The guide said it was on Fox Ohio, but it ended up on another alternate channel. At least it wasn't blacked out. The South Carolina Upstate game appeared on Fox Sports South for me. My home market is Sports South with Ohio being my secondary.

As far as blackout rules, they're almost as technical as tax laws.
