I have a Directv Tivo DVR (RCA DVR40) and want to use a universal remote to control

a) the DVR
b) Hitachi widescreen
c) Sony HT
d) RCA DVD

Problem is, before I can even try B-D, I never get ANY universal remote to work with my RCA DVR40.

Anyone have a code or idea? I do not want to spend $100 in a remote to get this....

My Harmony controls my RCA DVR40 just fine, so did my old Marantz RC2000. Any remote that works with Tivo should work with the RCA, and I've never met a learning remote that didn't, though the sensor on the RCA is a bit finicky about strength and direction.

Harmonys can be had a for under a hundred on eBay and Marantzs can be had there dirt cheap.

Program the remote as a TiVo, not a RCA D* receiver.
