Ok, I know that the last upgrade was pulled and the new upgrade was launch today (jan 9) I think.

Is this launch nation wide and if it is not when is it going to get to the central time zone?

I am getting really sick of waiting and waiting while D* introduces new stuff and is not fixing the current stuff. I know, I know two seperate groups but I think that it is time for D* to focus on retention not new customers.

I have been with them off and on for over 5 years and I am tempted to pay the $15 a month to break my commitment and deal with Time Warner Cable.

Thanks for reading my rant.:)

Enjoy Time Warner.

I just left them for Dtv after my 3rd HDDVR replacement. Trust me, their stuff is not perfect either (missed recordings, partial recordings). Lets not even mention their packages are about 30% higher in price.

I am not trying to make light of your situation but I would much rather deal with a company like Dtv who seems to be actively trying to fix problems instead of ignoring them (cough**Time Warner**cough)

A close relative of mine (he might not want me to be specific) was a CSR for a few months last year for TW.

He made it sound like they have more than their share of problems.

The "last upgrade" and the "new upgrade" are one and the same, but yes it was halted over the holidays.

It is supposed to be going back out now, but it is going to geographically limited areas at any given time. I don't know how long it will take for it to reach everyone.

Most importantly though - the software upgrade all by itself isn't going to be your salvation if you are having significant problems. If you are, you really need to do a reformat. The software upgrade will help reduce/prevent problems going forward.
