Upgrade HD in HR20 or HR21?

I have had an HR20-700 for quite some time, and had just ordered the Antec MX-1 enclosure and a Seagate 1TB drive for more HD space. I had also been using my HR10-250 that I have had for many years for SD recording (no HD locals yet but on the list for September). In the meantime I was contacted by DirecTV and offered a free upgrade for the HR10-250. What I got was and HR21-100. Is there any benefit to adding the external drive to either the HR20 or HR21? Thanks for your help, I have learned alot by reading this forum

You mean one over the other? I don't think so.

Edited: It might be better to put the hd on the older unit because it's hard drive is closer to failure than the new one.
