Not sure if I should put this thread elsewhere.

I want to upgrade my h24 to an h34. I've been online with dtv since Nov last year so i'm not in the window. I called and would have to pay $400.00 to upgrade.

I'm doing this for numerous reasons, the added tuners, yet, but i'm HOPING this gets rid of the unacceptably slow, and malfunctioning O/S that I have now.

Is there any hints or tricks I can use to not have to pay that much?

The HR24 is the fastest dvr they have..I don't believe the HR34 is being reported as any faster....perhaps you have a failing hdd or some other issue with your HR24.
