What do you have now.....according to Directv, all HR2x models are functionally identical, so unless you can show them there is something wrong with the dvr you have, they won't "upgrade" you for free.westview said:I would like to upgrade to a faster DVR. I only have one TV hooked up to Direct. So I do not need some of the features on the newer models. Which DVR would be a good choice for me? Thanks for any help.
In that case it would be the HR24. Though the HR34 has benefits other than whole home, 5 tuners and PIP. But if your current DVR has two coax cables plugged into it, you'd really want a professional install."westview" said:I have the HR23. I am willing to buy from Solid Signal. I just do not know which one to buy. Like I said with only one tv I do not need some of the features of the newer models.

If you do have two cables going into the 23 and upgrade to a 24, make sure you get two B-Band Converters as well.
