Most of our TV viewing, besides Movie Ch's,are USA,TLC,HGTV,TNT,A&E,Bravo and my fav Sci-Fi.All programs are great in HD with the exception of USA,It's not pixilated but looks like we are viewing throuh a screen.I've noticed that scenery shots are great, like fly overs in "Burn Notice".Does anyone else notice this?

Fast motion scenes are hard on MPEG4 compression algorythms. It is a touchy subject but it might be over zealous compression.

Just Burn Notice? I have noticed they seem to be a bit more grainy on Burn Notice than any of their other shows.. Grainy, like maybe they film it on actual film, and they don't clean it up on transfer... On purpose? Not sure... But other programs seem to be clean, for me at least... I'll pay more attention over the next week and see if I notice any difference...
I have also noticed that Burn Notice is very grainy!
To keep costs down, Burn Notice is probably shot on 16mm film, however IMDB doesn't verify that fact.
Burn Notice looks great to me. But it has a more "film" appearance on purpose, sets the mood of the show. Just like BSG in HD isn't "crisp" because it's not supposed to be.
WOW this is a little to technical for me, personally if I can see the picture and its sharp I am happy with it
BSG makes it work. Burn Notice looks cheap.

Ummm, it's supposed to look that way, it sets the "mood" of the show. Ever seen the movie Minority Report? Another great example of the director setting the mood of the movie by having it have a certain "grain" and color scheme.

Besides, anything film isn't going to be "super clear" like a live sporting event on video. Just two different ways to capture moving pictures and they look different.

It's the same with Law & Order. It's shot that way to give it a "documentary" feel.
I watch Monk every week and have never noticed any problems.
