Just bought a SanDisk Cruzer 8GB USB 2.0 flash drive and am copying some files from my 4.5 year old PC running Vista home premium. It seems like the transfer rate is really slow. The OSD says it's transferring the file from 4-6 MB/sec. Is that kinda slow? I thought the USB 2.0 rate was 480 MB/sec. Or am I mistaken?

I just connected the drive to my work laptop which is Windows 7 Professional. I'm transferring the files to the laptop and am getting speeds of 15-20 MB/sec, which is 3-5 times faster than when it was connected to my Vista desktop. Do I need to update the drivers on the Vista desktop?

You will get speeds much faster copying files FROM the flash drive. The logjam on flash drives is the WRITE speed, copying files to them, not reading the files from them.
Following your link above I see the data to prove this. I was just expecting it to write to the USB faster. Thanks.
