You can view (although I haven't gotten work yet) photos and music files from your computer. Check out the Information and Resources Subsection for more details.

Check out "Viiv" here on the HR20 forums and it will tell you exactly what the ethernet port does.

I don't think it will go beyond the media extender functions - music, photos and video.

Probably remote scheduling access will be added.

I also suspect that DirecTV will want to use it for the daily phone call routines as well since it would save them some money on phone charges.
