Anyone here of any plans that would allow the HR20 to report PPV usage back to DirecTV via the internet instead of using a phone line? I want to switch to digital phone service and I am told that an analog modem will not work through a digital (voip) service. Any thoughts?

Many people with VoIP service have reported that the HR20 works fine. Which VoIP providers are you looking to go with?

I am looking at Time/Warner digital phone. I might give it a try.

While DirecTV hasn't announced any specific plans for PPV reporting over the Internet, I'd say it's a very good possibility that they will enable it when they start their broadband VOD service next year.

If it dosen't work with your VOIP just order PPV via the DIRECTV website and the PPV order goes to every receiver on your account.
