I broke my "peanut" remote that came with the THR22-100 (DirecTV DVR w/ Tivo). I have been content to go back to using one of the old "universal remotes" that I had laying around from my non-Tivo DVR. But... is there a way to "thumbs up" or "thumbs down" using the universal (non-Tivo) remote? I heard there was a way of using a combination of key presses to affect the same result as a "thumbs up" or "thumbs down", without the benefit of having the actual keys on the non-Tivo remote. Any help is appreciated - Thanks!

I am not aware of a way to emulate the thumbs buttons.

Only available on the peanut remotes or if you get a programmable remote that has the tivo codes in it.

Any UEI/OFA made universal/oem remote with Directv SAT code 1377/01377 on board, the advanced codes(EFC) for new commands are:

Thumbs UP: EFC-00044
Thumbs Down: EFC-00036
Zoom: EFC-00084
LiveTv/Swap: EFC-00092
Clear: EFc-00052

The logitech harmony remotes have the thumbs keys try one of those just use their software and enter make directv model thr22
