Verizon Set for $1B FiOS TV Rollout
More Channels, More Choice, More Value

Choice and Competition are rolling across New Jersey. Plans are set for the wiring of Verizon's $1 Billion fiber-optic network, which will finally allow TV service to compete with cable and satellite. This expansion of options, a result of the state's recent legislative change concerning state wide franchises for cable providers, can only benefit the consumer.

As the Star Ledger pointed out last week,

By the end of this year, consumers in more than 100 New Jersey communities are expected to have another alternative when it comes to choosing TV programming. Analysts said the entry of the telecommunications giant into the marketplace dominated by cable-TV and satellite-TV operators is likely to trigger a price war.

"It's just going to be ferocious," said Patrick Comack, an analyst with Zachary Investment Research. "The big winner is the consumer.."
