Last night I was trying to find out why I wasn't receiving some of the local hd channels and I called D*. CSR said restart the box so I did and now the picture is exteremely bright. My wife was watching a show at the time so I left it alone and will chec it tonight but has anyone else had this problem. Its bright.... whites are almost blinding!

Nothing on the TV changed. I only did a reset on the H20.

It's possible that something reset the handshake between your HR20 and TV's HDMI interface. You might try component video cables instead, or reconnecting/resetting your TV's HDMI interface.

You can change stuff by accident very easily. On many TVs, it's as simple as just pressing a "Picture Mode" button once and activating super bright mode.

When I got home last night it was back to normal. Very strange.
