I just searched though the forums but couldn't find an answer.

Is there a 5 hour limit for each recording on the VIP722. I just got the 722 a couple weeks ago after my old 622 died. I set it up to record a 7 hour block of Olympics over night and when I went back to watch the events I wanted to see, there was only 5 hours recorded, and the events I wanted were of course in the 2 hours I didn't get.

Anyone else notice this with the Olympic coverage?

I have a 622 and successfully recorded 8 hour blocks of the olympics, so I don't see why you shouldn't be able to. Do you have enough empty hard drive space?

My problem was that it wouldn't remember where I left off (it had completed recording). I would watch a bit and then do something else. Each time I resumed the program it started back at the beginning.

Maybe your receiver did it's nightly guide update in the middle of the recording? I think receivers default to 3am, and I've had programs set to record over this time not complete.

You can change this setting in the menus.

Just another idea to possibly check into...
