I just recently got a dish with the VIP722 hddvr. During the last few weeks the dvr has been spontaneously deleting recordings. It seems to be occur more frequently lately. It will even delete recordings that we protect. We have plently of space on the hard drive so i don't know what the problem is. I was just wondering if you guys have had any of these problems or know of anyways i can correct this. Thanks.

No it deletes just regular programming recordings.

Just a thought here - change your remote control address if any of your neighbors have Dish. They could potentially deleting your recordings without realizing it.

The DVR has a UHF remote and receiver, this allows you to control the receiver from a different room. If you have a neighbor nearby with Dish Network and a receiver using the same UHF remote code they could be unintentionally controlling your DVR and deleting events on your DVR when they are doing similar functions on their DVR.

The instructions are on the manual. Basically, bring up the system information screen, press and hold the SAT button for 3 seconds until the red lights blink, enter a new address (1-16), press the # button. Red lights flash. Press the REC button - see the address change on the system information screen.
