I'm visiting the kids and grandkids. They have a new 'puter loaded with Vista. The screen saver will not run. It will preview fine..................click apply and wait the set time and still at the desktop. Is there something in Vista that you need to do other that the normal right click on the desktop, screensaver, choose & apply?

No third party. The computer is/was a "demo" unit from Best Buy. I think they changed something.

Activation of a screen saver is largely dependent on the make and model of the graphics adapter. With my HP media center PC, which has an Asus GeForce 8500GT graphics card, screen saver setup is ultimately through the Control Panel.

If the computer was a demo unit from Best Buy, you should immediately reinstall Vista and format the hard drive in the process. There is no telling what could be on that PC.

Well said Larry and follow that advice pronto. Best Buy adds all kinds of junk to its PCs on the floor and who knows what evil things someone/customer added using a USB thumb drive.
