Why does VOD list movies for channels I don't get, like HBO and Showtime, for example? Is there a way to limit the listing to the channels I get? Looking for something to watch from VOD is like trying to find a needle in a haystack.

You'd think that would be the case, but it isn't.
If you just want to see the VOD for a particular channel just add 1000 to the channel number and you will be taken right to the VOD for that channel.

Well, that sux. If I'm looking for a movie to watch that's not already in the regular guide, I don't think in terms of "Gee, I wonder what's available from channel X?" Nothing. "Ok, how about channel Y?" Nothing. And on and on. I think: VOD > Movies > List of movies available. It should go without saying that I don't need to see a huge list of movies I can't watch. That makes D*'s VOD pretty much useless, imo. Why on earth do they have it set up that way? :nono2:

Unfortunately, this is probably related to the Channels I Get problem, which DirecTV refuses to fix. We're probably stuck with it forever.

I disagree. DIRECTV did take steps to fix CIG, and it is better than it used to be. I think this is completely different. I think this is a the sales department telling the engineering department to show everything.

What they really need to do is block the adult VOD channels when you turn on parental controls. Instead, the very descriptive, graphic names of the porns are available to view!

There must be a parental control that does that. Titles are blocked on my box for all mature titles.

There's a box you can select in parental controls called "hide adult" but I'm not sure if it blocks VOD shows. I'll have to check when get home.

EDIT: Here it is: Menu -> Settings -> Parental Controls -> Adult Channels -> Hide Adult

Any adult channel including VOD shows up as "Blocked Title".
