I have a 6 mbps DSL and I can download SD basically in real time, in other words I can start a download and immediately begin watching it. HD downloads seem to vary, the best speed I have gotten is a two hour movie in about three hours, I can usually begin watching about 20 minutes after the download starts. Some HD programming is much slower. By my measurements most downloads are throttled at 3-4 mbps download speeds.
