VOD Stopped Downloading

Any reasoning why VOD would simply stop downloading? I have 7 shows in the que and I tested the internet connection and no issues found. I even cancelled a download and started another one, with the same result. Download paused.

Could my HD allotment be at 100%? The DVR says I have 66% remaining, but I wonder if that's just for SD allotment or overall? Is there a way to tell?

Thanks,

Well oddly enough, my qued VOD programs just started downloading again...

Guys - Any ideas? I didn't change or update anything. Are VOD programs managed for bandwidth, channel allotment, etc... on the D* side of the house?

Just looking for thoughts...

Thanks,

I would have said check your DNS settings, but since you passed your test, that would appear not to be the issue. I've had the DNS settings revert to the default value on a few occasions, which would cause VOD not to work.

I would look at your ISP having a hiccup or a problem at D*'s end, more likely the former.
When you say it “stopped”, do you mean it was in the middle of downloading a show and the percent complete stopped moving when you shoed the queue? Or was it that when you selected an item to download, it wouldn’t even start or show in the queue? If it stopped in the middle of downloading, then my guess is that it’s an issue with your ISP – either they are throttling the download or their network got very busy, etc. If it would not start the download at all, then it may have been high demand at D*. I was downloading some VOD last night and I noticed it was taking several minutes to start.

Rodney - I qued up 12 shows, it downloaded the first 6 and then on the 7th it paused the download, nor could I get it to start another qued item. It just seemed to stop the download process for about 6 hours and then resumed.

It wasn't my ISP (I was using it all day) or the connection, it passed every time I tested it. As far as bandwidth on my ISP, I guess it's possible but I'm using Comcast, so the bandwidth should be available and no, I'm not a "bandwidth hog". I rarely download material, so I shouldn't be anywhere near their magical limit.

I guess the question is does D* throttle the VOD is demand is too high and wait for available bandwidth to resume again? Like I said, the downloads resumed on their own.
