I don't use VOD or TV Apps much. The last time I used VOD was to watch Haywire and I'm not even sure it came via VOD or PPV. So the wife wants to watch a movie that is only available on VOD. She sets it to record and four days later it still in download pending mode. Obviously something is wrong so I start running checks on both my DVRs. I have the the whole house thing setup and it works fine.
I run a couple of checks under Network and look through the system information. Every test on both DVRs says they are connected to the internet. But next to STB it says error 301.
I call Tech Support and the lady reading from the script and after having me check a few things says there is nothing wrong with the DirecTv equipment and I need to setup my router to work with the DirecTv equipment. Specifically allow access to UDP1701.
I have had the same router for over a year and had no problem with VOD until recently. The only thing I may have done was to do a reset on my router so it would recognize an attached USB drive.
Any suggestions?
