Has anyone used a wall mount bracket like this for a dish? Is it pretty stable even if it needs to be extended out pretty far? Also, what orbital location needs to be visible to receive service in central Texas? Thanks.

You can either use EA dish for 61.5, 72 and 77 orbital locations or WA dish with 110, 119 and 129.

If mounted by the manufacturers instructions it is stable to the limit of travel. Dallas and Houston I believe are on both Arcs so if you consider them Central Texas yes but this is a BIG STATE so be more specific.

OP lists Cedar Park, that shows as Austin, TX. Both arcs.

Yes, Cedar Park. I'm thinking about putting a 2x12 between some studs before the insulation and sheet rock goes on the wall and mounting the bracket to the outside before stucco is applied so that the base of the bracket is covered. I wanted to be sure what arc it needed to see. Thanks for the info. One other question. What model dish is used?

EA can only use a 1000.4 with EA lnb assembly, while WA can either use a 1000.2 or a 1000.4 with a WA lnb assembly.

I take it t his means the 1000.2 is OK in Austin? Is there any quality difference is EA and WA? I'm not far from Cedar Park and will be moving and needing a new dish.

Will the installer use one of those brackets if needed? My house is stucco and not sure if I am comfortable with a stucco mount. The eave looks like the best bet if reinforced at the mount.

tcat- mounting to stucco is not a good idea, nor is it approved. Even when secured to a stud the dish will vibrate slightly in the wind causing the stucco to crack and spiderweb out, eventually falling away. Groundhog's got the right idea, building the mount into the structure behind the stucco.
