i'm researching for a friend who just has 1 SD receiver and 1 SD dvr

from my searching here i gather the machine can be gotten for 99 bucks or less for long term customers (she's primestar so i assume thats pretty long) but there appears to be a 20 dollar other fee of some sort?

is that in addition to the 10 a month HD fee? (i dont have dtv anymore so unsure if thats still in effect

she's looking for more tuners vs continue paying for the distant networks and only needs the SD feeds but if i recall even way back when when you got an HR20 you had to pay HD fee regardless

I believe the $20 fee includes HD fee, DVR fee and MRV fee all rolled into one.

And to answer your question there is no way to avoid the extra fee.

i also confirmed with her that there are 2 lines in a trench from the dish to the house so would hooking this up even be possible with just the 2 lines?

i have no clue how much distants cost so maybe the 20 HD fee isnt so bad lol

how much are people getting charged for the upgrades? they used to give upgrades out like candy long ago
