I've got an HR10 and have just ordered an HR20. There are a lot of unwatched programs on the HR10 that I want to watch eventually. While I could keep both DVRs hooked up, I'd prefer to move the unwatched programs from the HR10 to the HR20.

Is there a way to do that?

(Note: I did open up my previous DirecTV DVR (Sony SAT-60) and upgraded the disks to larger size, formatting them first with special programs on my PC. So that approach would be ok, but I'd sure prefer something simpler.)

No. There's no way. The two systems are entirely different.
Too bad there's no way to network one unit to the other, allowing exchange of saved programs. I understand TiVo got that working with their non-DirecTV versions. There's a USB port on the HR10, which has TiVo software, but I never heard that was usable with an unhacked unit. The HR20, of course, contains entirely different software, and I realize neither TiVo nor DirecTV would make any money enabling exchange of files. Too bad for customers like me who will have both units in operations for a while.
