Dish does carry it as a local in the Montgomery area. It is on WIYC? out of Troy, I believe. I don't think it is carried for the Dothan area.

Weather Nation is not on DISH, but we were promised local weather on 8's about hmmm, many many years ago, and still dont have it either.

that depends on where you are regarding the local weather, here in Phoenix we have weatherscan on channel 9, its a pretty good service the only issue I have with it is that they also give weather for Tucson, Flagstaff, Las Vegas and Lake Havasu City on a rotating basis

Its predecessor was The Weather Cast which was a short lived channel created for Dish Network so they could pressure The Weather Channel to create more features and a 24 hr network devoted to nothing but weather forecasts (great idea, 'eh?) for Dish Customers. Last time I heard (a few years ago), those features will be rolled out "soon."

BTW ... one inaccuracy in the Wikipedia article linked above is that The Weather Channel never launched the promised weatherscan like channel for Dish Network.
