I haven't seen this on any other HD channels except the Showtime channels. These may not be recent either, but on some of the movies I have recorded on Showtime HD channels in the past have had a weird artifact area on the top middle area of the screen. Not very top but maybe 4 inches down . Most noticeable on a light brown background screen it is like a quarter (coin size) splotch of a minor color difference. I know it is not the TV because local HD channels, HBO HD channels, and the other ones dont have it? I don't get it. I watch my shows in stretch format on 1080i that is what the receiver is set to.

Okay it looks like on some of these movies, and like I said it has been awhile since they were recorded but it has an artifact on it known as a macroblock. Most likely the 16x16 variety.
