I would like to connect my DirecTV receiver to the internet but am not interested in Whole Home capabilities at this time.

While I understand there are issues with using the WES610N for Whole Home, does it work for simple internet connectivity? I have an internet ready blu-ray, tv, and directv receiver in an older whole in which pulling cable is a nightmare so I am looking for alternatives.

While you can use a WES610N there is a new wireless CCK that you can use as well which has had less reported problems. You don't have to have whole home with it however if you do later on you're one step ahead.
