What are test channels 480, 481, 482 and 483? Also, what should you expect to see when you tune to them?

Are there any other test channels of any significance?

The test channels are used to determine the correct setup of your satellite, BBCs, etc. If you see anything that says checking for satellite signal or any other error type message, you may have a dish issue.

The following list of test channel numbers are used to test and check your equipment,to know if your B-Band Converters (BBCs) are functioning properly.
480 103 Odd
481 103 Even
482 99 Odd
483 99 Even
490 101 Odd
491 101 Even
492 119 Odd
493 119 Even
494 110
When you are in the channel guide,if you highlight the actual channel number,it will give information at the top of the screen in regards to which satellites that specific channel number will test your equipment for.Hope the info helps.

I don't see why not! The BBC functionality is built into SWM capable receivers.

What if on the channel 494 your receiving the Searching for signal on Sat In 2 (771) message? I can't get the golf channel (CH 605) unless I restart my receiver or unplug the bbc and then I only get it until the channel is changed.
My other receiver checked out all the test fine I believe, but it searched for signal on sat 2 on the test channel 482 and that receiver does not get ESPN on 206. I can restart, reboot that receiver and still no ESPN.

Ok. Looking at signal on Satellite 110 transponder 8 I have tuner 1 at 98 and tuner 2 has no signal. Transponder 10 has 95% on tuner 1 and nothing on 2. Transponder 12 is 98% on tuner 1 and 44-50% on tuner 2.

Swap the input cables and see if the problem moves from tuner 2 to tuner 1.
