What are some of the bug that bug you most about the Dishplayer?

For me there really is not bug that bugs me, I am a technical guy and I have no problem (usualy) fixing the problems. I think the main reason I get mad at Dish Player bugs is due to my wife. When she wants to watch TV she expects it to work. When it don't work I hear about it. (And believe me I HEAR about it!)

It is this agrivation that makes me hate the bugs in the Dishplayer.

A corrupt guide. That pretty much causes most of the problems. I hate having to download a new guide because most of the time I discover the problem in the morning so if I want the shows to record for that day, I have to download a new guide which makes me late for work. Dish is lucky I don't take them to court for lost wages. :)
For me, it's the blinkouts. Most of the other problems seem to be recitifiable by pulling the access card. Curing the blinkouts seems to take a minimum of three resets.
What gripes me the most is the 5.1 DD fading in & out and seemingly always at the end of a show where it is most important.
Having a timer event not last longer than 2 days before getting erased by a required switch test, code 7225000, or power pull needed to get a picture back. Having a 7 day guide is meaningless if you can't use it.

4 days of no resets after 5720!!! Fingers crossed..
What's worse than sitting down to watch an episode of a show with an ongoing storyline and seeing 1 minute as the record time.

Slojim, As for losing DD I have both digital and analog cables going to my receiver if you switch the receiver between the two when you have the blackouts at least you won't have lost the dialogue.
Random crashing. I have mine hooked to a Tivo, which depends on the DP being on (and not in screensaver mode!) in order to make good recordings.

It hasn't been a problem since 5720, though (furiously knocking on wood).

Turning to the program that I really want to see atleast five miniutes before it starts to make sure nothing whacky happens and I miss the first few minutes of the show. That bugs me.
I haven't heard this one discussed before so maybe it's all mine.

After I have paused the DP and then hit play, it plays for a few seconds and then I get a black screen. I have to jump back to get it to play again. Anyone else seen this?

The other one that I experience regularly is the "Record Each Time" bug where programs scheduled for weekly recordings get changed from "Record Every Tuesday" (for example) to "Record Each Time." This causes some conflicts--like a show conflicting with itself--and other problems.

Yes, I've seen that, but not limited to just pausing. It seems like the DP gets "stuck" somehow at times when I go to play from fast forward/reverse, jump forward/back, or pause. I can't guarantee that it's happened in all of these transport mode changes, but it's definitely not a single one.

As for the original question, I'd have to choose between:

1) Failing to record
2) Losing timer events

Both of these have the same result: I don't get expected recordings. (<sigh> I know... I'm an optimist for expecting the DP to record.)
The one that is the most annoying for me right now is the inability to get rid of that damned obnoxious channel 201. I hate that channel. It is useless to me. I don't use the WebTV part of the receiver so I can't surf to the sites it shows. And, it is so loud! I wish they would restore the ability to remove it from the guide.
grrr argh!
