I had a job scheduled for yesterday to install a purchased 722, the customer has not received it yet, but I asked him how much he paid for it. He said that he got one heck of a deal @ $100.00. I told him that he had better get the numbers off it and call them in to make sure it's clean. He claims that it is. Just sounds too cheap to me. What do you think?

I believe the DISH price for lease entry on the ViP722 is $149, so it is almost certainly a lease.

Apparently, the unit is being drop shipped to the customer. Doesn't Dish require a professional installation on the ViPxxx series unless it's a replacement?

He's not leasing, he is buying it from another individual. Yes, he did set up a professional install for it. But he is NOT getting the receiver thru dish.
That's a really good deal.

Well, maybe. I had to send my first leased 722 back, didn't even work a week after the install. One never knows. It'll be interesting to see.

$100 dollars is the lease price for a 622, The lowest lease price I have seen on a 722 is $125. If this turns out to be real find out if the seller has any more!
