Kind of. The B-band converters aren't required until the new satellites go up next year, which will bring national MPEG4 HD with them.Deevan said:Anything? Or am I waiting for the national MPEG4's to launch?
Not from the same sat, but you won't need another dish (assuming you already have a 5LNB dish). The new sats are going to be in the same orbital slots as the current MPEG4 ones, so no new dish and no reaiming necessary.Deevan said:And another thing, is that going to be another dish that needs to be installed or are they streaming off the same satellite?
I can hardly wait for the flurry of posts when those new satellites go active and those B-Band Converters turn up missingSParker said:It keeps you from losing them when you need them later.![]()

Good to know, thanks.PoitNarf said:Kind of. The B-band converters aren't required until the new satellites go up next year, which will bring national MPEG4 HD with them.

:nono2: Train your CSR's!clay_w said:Funny story about the B-Band Converters - I called tech support today because my HD locals have the colors inverted, they told me it was the B-Band Converters and they were going to send new ones.
I told them I did not think that was it because I have the same issue both with the converters connected and when they were not connected.
She said "that is impossible sir, you could not even get your locals in HD without the converters connected!". I said "really?, I have had them disconnected and the local HD still comes in..."
She said, "that is not possible...lets test it..." I disconnected them and tuned into all my local HD channels and said I thought the converters were only for when the new sat's go up. She said "that is not true....".
She still didn't believe me, lol.
What channels?DishDog said:Called DTV tech support yesterday and told her that when I disconnect the BBC's, pixilation and audio drop out dissapears but when I reconect them the problem reapears as before (on about a dozen or more channels).
She said she'll send out two new ones overnight and I rec'd them this morning!
After installing, all is well.
All of Showtime, CNN and several more in the 500's. And a couple in the 70's.Blitz68 said:What channels?
