Its a form of interactive TV. Games, news and weather. Doesn't add much to the service... OpenTV is having some fiscal difficulty so the future is uncertain. :shrug:

I actually now have the Customer Service app on my E* 4900. That is the only app worth anything. It gave me the choice of Ordering Cinemax (NEVER!) or Dish magazine (no thanks, etc) it also allowed me to see my bill. Pretty much similar to the app on the web site (can't unsubscribe programming)
