Just another variation of the newbie threads.

I plan on signing up for E* Silver or Bronze package in the next couple of days. I have one HD and three SD tvs I need signal to. It looks like I will get hit up for less fees going the E*route over the D* one. I plan on signing up w/out an 18 month commitment for a few reasons, two being I if D* does indeed start offering more HD content in '07 and if personal needs require me to move I'll have more freedom. I would like a DVR (ViP622) but rather not pay the $199 up front fee (I know, no one does). and someone posted that they thought Feb the ViP622 charge it may go down. So I was thinking that I should start with;

ViP211 for the HD
625 for 2 of the SDs
322 for the final SD

One of the Dish Builder programs came up with this set up. Does this sound like what I need? If I added another SD to my list would there be another fee to hook it up to the 322 if that is indeed what they sent? How can I go about getting a ClubDish number to offset the activation fee? Am I correct in assuming that I can use one if I go month to month? Will it be easy and as cheap to upgrade to a ViP622 at a later date or am I better off just biting the bullet and getting it now? If I did upgrade to the ViP622 in the future I am assuming that E* would want one of their receivers back, could that be the 322?

If I go the no commitment route and don't carry the DHPP(?) that comes free with the commitment am I looking for trouble? What would happen if a receiver failed? Would I be SOL?

Any info, insight or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

if you get a 322 you can definitely add another SD tv at no cost.

i would be happy to provide you with a clubdish code. send me a PM. yes, you can use it if you go month-to-month.

it is generally more expensive to upgrade as an existing customer. dish network is known for catering to prospective customers and hoping that intertia keeps the rest where they are. you're better off getting the 622 now if you think you might want that in the future.

i'm not sure what the policy is for people who don't have the protection plan. sorry -- can't help you there.

622 for HD plus one SD
Either 2 322s or 625 for other 2 SDs

Why not have HD recording capability if you are going to pay the monthly charge for a DVR. If you are a new customer, I believe you can recoup the $199 622 up front cost with $20 mo. rebates for 10 Months. BTW you can add SD TVs to the #2 output of the 622 as long as you accept they have to be on the same channel as tuner #2 (you can buy additional IR remotes).
