Of all that's good about the HR20, for this former TiVo user, the interactive features are really cool, and make the unit a real upgrade. The other day, I discovered the - - - what's it called - - - "What's Hot" interactive screens off the MIX channels. These screens rank what D'TV viewers are watching right there in your time zone. And you can view a national "snapshot" of the most viewed shows, and then various categories, like "movies", "sports", etc. You can highlite the particular show and the reciever tunes it in. Very cool!

How do they know???? It's not a real time two-way connection, afterall!

The best guess I have seen on here is that since there are receivers calling in constantly for their monthly call to DirecTV, they just report what they're tuned to and that data is aggregated into What's Hot.

That's the only plausible way I can think of, but we don't have an official answer.
