I have 2 Dish 500's. One points at 110/119 and one at 148 for the 2nd tier of locals. A tree is slowly growing in front of the 148 dish, and when the leaves fell the 148 signal got better. Now that my locals are all on 110, when the leaves return, and eventualy make the 148 signal unusable, will the receiver automatically find my locals on 110, or can I have Dish switch my satellite source? And if so, can I just remove the 148 Dish, or must I rearrange the cabling as well?

The best reason to keep the 2nd dish is to have something available during the rare rain fade on the other dish. Oh how convenient it would be to have it pick up the rest of the locals available on 148 during that time.

the only content you get from 148° is a couple PI channels (in the 9400 range). It is "something" to watch during outages on the main dish, but not much.

Well, a foot of snow fell here a day ago, and it filled both dishes. No service. I took a broom to the 110/119 dish and all channels returned including Tier 2 locals. Let the trees grow.
