Where would I find my commitment status (or lack thereof) when viewing my account information on DTV's website?

I recall seeing this information in the past, but the website is laid out differently now.

TIA:)

Hehe, thats nice to see!

What's the block viewing on your account?

I do wish directv's site was a bit more detailed on what they think we have and what not. I say think as still when I add a HD receiver to my cart on the website it thinks I need a slimline dish installed (I already have one that was installed by them ;) )

It seems to be on the web for me...

I have that line item on my account as well, but my commitment isn't up until December. Although, I just added a couple of receivers a few weeks ago and it should have been extended...found out when I called a couple days ago to deactivate a legacy receiver that it hadn't been extended.

Okay, I admit it, I am an idiot! I can't find this information on their website. Ken S, how do I find it? Thanks.
After you log in on the website click "My setup" and then "current setup".

If you don't have a committment it will say so. If you do, it says nothing and you need to call anyway to find out.

Well that was easy! (once someone told me how!) I wonder why they don't post your commitment if you have one?

Just like TV watching data and what not?

So its an opt out thing that you can call in and opt out of?

Curious really, I dont really care if they see what I watch, its not that interesting anyways

They have all kinds of weird "internal only" stuff when viewing your account on the website. For example, my "setup" has one of those fancy entries with the DTV logo that just says "Thanks for being a DirecTV customer.......$0.00"

What's that all about???

Maybe not, but if you don't have BLOCK VIEWING DATA selected on your account, they anonymously collect your viewing data (it does not identify you or your account supposedly). That's how they get the data for that "What's Hot" selection that shows what DirecTV customers are watching in real time. (You choose it from the menu in DirecTV Active)

On the downside, your receivers will use the #$%$#@ out of your phone line reporting this data. Mine used to phone in multiple times daily. Very annoying. Interrupting my calls and possibly causing a busy signal to someone calling me.

Call a CSR and have "Block Viewing Data" added. And while you're on the line, did you know you could have IPPV (ordering via remote) turned off on your account so you don't get any surprises while leaving your phone line connected so you can enjoy the caller-ID onscreen feature? Do it! You can always order a PPV on the web and then enjoy it on ALL your receivers unlike ordering via remote.

I do not have the "No Annual Commitment" entry under my current setup but I know I'm outside of my commitment window as of May of this year.

I also don't have the "Block Viewing" option.

I'd say it's a hit or miss thing and you're better off just calling to ask about your commitment, I did.

If you are worried about money and/or time spent on the phone call to DirecTV from your box, just connect it to your network.

If the network connection is there, the phone is not used at all.

Of course, this assumes that your box has an ethernet connector available, but I even got it to work this way on a hacked HR10-250.
