I have sports pak, NHL CI and NHL Network. Leafs are on HNIC on NHL network. CSN 642 is blacked out. Game is not on NHL Center Ice. Does anyone know why?
Wow. Just wow."loveshockey" said:because Directv are idiots...
game was scheduled for NHL Network, but changed to Leafs-Sabres this past week
Directv never made the change to their Center Ice schedule to add it and unblackout Channel 642 for the ENTIRE Nation...
what is retentions email?
I'm requesting a FULL credit for NHL Center Ice...
Can't blame him. It shouldn't be up to him to babysit Directv to make sure they aren't screwing up. Fans pay a lot of money for these games.tonyd79 said:Wow. Just wow.
Yeah and he missed ONE out of how many over the entire year? Each team plays 82 so even if he wanted to watch all 82 of his team he's only missed like 1%...so what's that worth....a $2 credit?HGuardian said:Can't blame him. Not even April and this might be the best post of the year....or maybe you are early on that April Fool's joke. It's one game dude....no one cares about last season....care to explain why you think you are entitled to a full refund for missing one game this season???loveshockey said:"Today, I tried to watch the NHL game between the Washington Capitals and the Montreal Canadiens at 7pm EST.
It was originally scheduled for the NHL Network, but they changed their game to Toronto Maple Leafs and Buffalo Sabres.
Directv did not have the Caps/Canadiens game on Center Ice because they thought it would be on NHL Network.
The RSN that is showing the game, Comcast Sports Network Washington, channel 642, is incorrectly blacked out for me
because Directv thinks I should be watching the game on NHL Network. (People subscribing to NHL Center ICE also has the
RSNs "in the clear" for the hockey games showing that game.)
I tried to explain the situation to your customer service rep AND manager, but all I was told was that there are blackout "rules"
and that there was "no-one there that could turn the game on". I'm sure if it was the Super Bowl or the World Series,
that someone would be available. I'm not sure why NHL fans are looked upon as afterthoughts.
This is not the first time something like this has happened. Numerous times last season, channel 638-1 (Buffalo Sabres)
was late in showing games even during the playoffs.
I am requesting FULL credit for the entire season to correct your error or documented proof that I am incorrect."
Huh? I missed where Center Ice guarantees every game."HGuardian" said:Can't blame him. It shouldn't be up to him to babysit Directv to make sure they aren't screwing up. Fans pay a lot of money for these games.
Uh, no. Directv sports packages are of their own making. They are not beholden to a provider for feeds like comcast, fios, etc, are."cmasia" said:I will grant there should have been one working "light bulb" at D* who recognized the implications of NHLN's schedule switch from the Caps game to the Leafs game.
But D* can only map what CI gives them to map.
Notice the Leafs game is on both NHLN and CI which never, EVER happens.
That spot should have been remapped to the Caps game. It wasn't.
This is an NHL issue as they own both the NHLN and CI. Another reason NHLN network is such a poor excuse.
You actually come off as unreasonable...."loveshockey" said:shoot for the moon...
like I said, it's not the first time something like this has happened...

Even if it is an NHL issue it shows that a. Directv isn't engaged in avoiding such foul-ups and b. that the communication between D* and NHL sucks.cmasia said:I will grant there should have been one working "light bulb" at D* who recognized the implications of NHLN's schedule switch from the Caps game to the Leafs game.

According to an e-mail I received from Directv on February 1st they have no control over which games are shown. It's all NHL, said-they.tonyd79 said:Uh, no. Directv sports packages are of their own making. They are not beholden to a provider for feeds like comcast, fios, etc, are.
On the surface you are correct, but it (or similar) issues happen throughout the season and numerous complaints fail to resolve them. Also, this was a HUGE playoff-race game entering into the final week of the season. No-excuse.tonyd79 said:Huh? I missed where Center Ice guarantees every game.
Indemand on what carrier? It was also available on the nhl.com package, which is now doing "day passes" for $9.99/day.MrMars said:Indemand picked up the game, so it is tough to blame the NHL in this situation.
