LOL, okay, maybe I'm being impatient, but I want my upgrade!

I just got DirecTV with UltimateTV installed, and still have the 3.0 software. Is there a way to prompt the box to DL the update, or do I just have to wait?

Also, in the channel guide, there's two "Ultimate TV" boxes taking up a 1/2 hour of programming space (unlike the demo I saw on their website). Is there a way to get rid of these, or will the 3.5 upgrade get rid of them?

On a side note, I'm glad to find this forum, it was very helpful in my decision to get rid of digital cable. I got my system installed for $50 from Circuit City, and got the NFL package promotion from DirecTV. Helluva deal. I can't wait to experience some Dolby Digital from my TV!

Thanks,

Matt

You wil get your upgrade in the middle of the night. The upgrades I have gotten have been at about 2:00 a.m. Make sure nothing is set to record around that time or the upgrade won't happen.

You can check to see when the upgrade will be by going to Home -> Settings -> System Info -> Upgrades -> More Info or something like that (I can't remember exactly as I am at work).

The two UTV boxes on in the guide will disappear when version 3.5 downloads. You will notice some big service enhancements when this download happens.

Well, I figured out that to get rid of the UTV boxes and show the full program guide, I just had to scroll to the right.

As far as the Next Upgrade in the settings, it says there's none scheduled, hopefully that's incorrect.

Okay, just to give some closure, the box downloaded the upgrade last night, and everything is swell.

Waaaaaay better than that digital cable I had. Time Warner, you can go to hell! Except for the cable internet, I like that. ;)
